Immortalize

Rian Kerrane

August 3 – 27, 2019

Led by artist Rian Kerrane, Immortalize is a community program that invites the public to participate in the production of a collaborative monument. The monument is composed of plaster cast sculptures of participants’ hands. Each hand takes the form of a unique, physical gesture that conveys self-expression, individuality, and communication. When installed together by Kerrane, the hands figuratively—and literally—become a collective monument that symbolizes the voice of our community.

Coproduced by Black Cube and The Denver Theatre District. Part of a wider project MONUMENTAL, a series of public, contemporary artworks and community engagement programs that explore, question, and transform the role monuments play in our society.
