About the Artist
Gaia Alari is a visual artist and animation filmmaker based in Italy. She specializes in hand drawn experimental straight ahead animation. She recently worked with Coldplay and Alessia Cara and is directing her debut short animated film "What comes at night", produced by La Cellule Productions (France). She worked with the New York Times Magazine for the cover art and story of June issue 2024 and she is now a regular collaborator. Her work screened at several festivals around the world and notably as video art installations at Centre Pompidou, MASC Foundation, SalaEquis, Studio deTales. She lectured as a guest artist at Yale, Parsons school of design and the University of the Arts of London.
