Caterpillars of Dimensions
September 2022

Since this year’s topic (7th dimension) is so mysterious and esoteric, I’ll be working with semi-abstract visuals. Also because I like abstraction very much! I often work with faces. I like the idea that wherever you put a face, a personality is attached to the object. I also want to try something that I have wanted to try for a long time: It is the idea of superimposing frames of previously made animations, generating a psychedelic universe of abstract and colorful shapes with faces and characters that appear and disappear from the screen.

I think that this technique, well composed, can generate an interesting visual world. What I thought is to start playing with geometric shapes and the “caterpillars of dimensions” as an introduction to the total psychedelic world. To end the caterpillar just like it was in the beginning. I started thinking about 7 dimensions, represented as 7 circles. Then, because I like putting faces to things, I thought the upper circle could have a face, turning it into some sort of caterpillar of dimensions.
